These beauties are in my tops three favorite purchases so far. I just love love their little faces with their droopy eyes and bulbous noses. Plus the color combinations are soopa beautiful.

Jenna Colby is a self taught artist who has always been creative through different mediums, but decided to focus on painting three years ago. Originally from Ohio, Jenna has traveled and lived in both Pittsburgh and Philadelphia, but has called Seattle home since 1999. Growing up in a small town Colby was always fascinated with cities and has been influenced by her travels and the people she has met and observed. “I make it a point to take note and assign a story to the passer by, giving each moment in time purpose and creating color.” After developing and beginning to show her work, Jenna came into contact with the work of artists like Mark Ryden and Yoshimoto Nara. Thinking back, she says, “Their work really moved me. It made me nervous, giddy . . . I’m not sure if there is a word for it. But after experiencing that feeling, I decided that is what I want to do to others. I want to make other people feel that way.”

Voila! Bandanna into Tote April 27, 2008

I just couldn’t resist snatching up a few of these bandannas from the Etsy Labs . I absolutely love the different style lettering and the little birdie. These Etsy folk come up with some super Etsy stuff. This bandanna inspired me so that I decided to make it into a cool little tote. Now it is romping around town spreading the Etsy word!

Is your fridge full of those thin cheep pizza place magnets? Or local law office advertisement magnets? Is your fridge getting teased by all the other fridges because of her lack of fashion sense? It doesn’t have to be that way. Make over your fridge! Liberate her from the shame she has endured! These handmade wooden magnets by Brezomayo have added such flare to our fridge. Brezomayo, out of Maine, creates beautiful handmade goodies. Her sense of style will add that touch of loveliness that all homes need.

I am an owl lover. There is just something so great about those wide eyes. I like them cute and fat, sleek or scholarly. I just couldn’t pass up one of Sibi’s wee Hootiecuties! Sibi resides in Holtum, Netherlands and loves to make cute plushies that can put a smile on everyone’s face :) Her little owl definitely puts a grin on this mug.

Today was a very cold wet rainy Portland day. I remind myself on these days that this is the reason it is so lush and beautiful in the North West. But a nice warm cup of joe also helps. I rarely go one day without using my Betz White Cup O Joe Pincushion. I decided to go with the kit and make my own. I was really happy to find the directions easy to follow and the supplies truly great quality.

In February 2007, Betz appeared on the Martha Stewart Show and has been featured in many magazines, including Country Living, Adorn and CRAFT. She is the author of the new book, Warm Fuzzies, 30 Sweet Felted Projects.

Juiced up keys April 16, 2008

When I was a young 80s girl trying to make it through the 4th grade in San Clemente CA I attemted to follow many of the trends. And one, if you remember, was the crazy massive amounts of keychains. I had like 50 keychains and not surprisingly, no keys. They would dangle cheerfully from my backpack full of My Little Pony, Rainbow Bright and Care Bear plastic happiness. Alas… no keys.
I am happy to say that I have moved on from the massive tangley lump of plastic key parafanalia to a simple fruity Strawberry Lanyard With Dangle Leaf by Bloody Bunny hailing from Berlin, Germany.

This is by far one of my favorite Etsy purchases! I almost want to buy another just in case mine gets lost.
